The Ravishing Women’s Show on Sep 17th and 18th 2016 had it all. Ravishing Women, a non profit group founded by Menka Soni hosted their annual fund raising show for API Chaya – a 501c(3) non profit group working to protect violence against women. The show was home to the glorious Miss/Mrs/Teen India WA pageants, along with motivating segments that honor women entrepreneurs and provide a platform to local dance institutes and vendors to showcase their work. The Ravishing Women’s Show had its audience mesmerized through scintillating performances by 23 most deserving pageant contestants in the Miss/Mrs/Teen and Ms. Classic category, along with breathtaking dances by the local dance institutes that left everyone asking for more!
In a glamorous and glittering function, Pushkara Chaganti was crowned Miss India WA 2016, whereas Priyanka Dehran and Neha Talluri were crowned with the coveted titles of Mrs. India WA and Teen India WA respectively. The pageant opened up with each contestant showcasing stunning ethnic wear as part of the traditional round, followed by a talent round, Evening Gown round and Judges Q&A. The show was judged by an esteemed jury panel that included reputed people from Seattle fashion industry. Winners from the pageant have the tremendous opportunity to participate in Miss/Mrs/Teen India USA to be held later this year.
Other title winners included: Meenal Darak as Miss India WA First runner up, Amita Sharma as Miss India WA Second Runner Up, Abha Shukla as Mrs. India WA First Runner up, Neha Krishna as Mrs. India WA Second runner up, Snigdha Singh as Ms. People’s Choice, Melissa Perincheril as Miss Talent, Sweta Nimwal as Mrs. Talent, Kanchan Saxena as Ms. Transformational, Reshma Wadhwa as Ms. Entrepreneur and Melissa Fernandez as Ms. Congeniality.
Other than the beauty pageant, the show also had motivational segments such as InspiTalk, an inspirational rendezvous with women who are already making a difference in the society. As part of this inspiring segment, a set of remarkable women leaders were invited to share their experience and speak through some of the common challenges that women face in our society. Vandana Slatter, Prerna Goja, Chaitra Vedulapalli and Linda Floyd were in the panel of InspiTalk to share their experiences & inspire others. There were more than 50 women entrepreneurs and artists who were facilitated on the stage for their contribution to the community.
All in all, the Ravishing Women’s Show was a grand celebration of the beauty and spirit of womanhood, while also bringing together the rich heritage and oneness as part of the larger Indian diaspora.
