14th Annual Kirkland Artist Studio Tour (KAST) 2017
KAST, one of the largest studio art tours in Western Washington, showcases over 45 artists at galleries and home studios, May 13-14. The art tour takes a unique approach: artists will be on site working in many of the studios, offering visitors a chance to watch demonstrations, ask questions and purchase art directly from them. Most of the artists are residents of King and Snohomish Counties. A wide range of artwork will be on display and available for purchase among the various studios: jewelry, glass art, paintings, photography, garden art, sculpture, furniture, fiber arts, and more!
Mother’s Day Half Marathon and 5K
In this Kirkland Mother’s Day tradition, the Mother’s Day Half Marathon and 5k on May 14 will have runners and walkers of all skill levels participate in a scenic and supportive event. Both the half marathon and 5K courses incorporate a challenging and rewarding route along the shores of Lake Washington. Celebrate post-race in the wine and mimosa garden at Juanita Beach Park. Registration fees vary.
Woodland Park Zoo’s Annual Mom & Me Event
Celebrate Mother’s Day with the 27th annual Mom & Me on Saturday, May 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Woodland Park Zoo. At this event, families can enjoy wild animal encounters, participate in lots of fun activities in the North Meadow and listen to zookeeper talks focused on the zoo’s moms and babies that can be seen this spring.
