The Tacoma Rainiers and The Fearey Group recently hosted an Influencer’s Day at Cheney Stadium with bloggers and media like myself, to give us the opportunity to check out the new stadium developments and upgrades before they host the 2017 CHI Franciscan Health Triple-A All-Star Game next week.

Hanging out on the party deck!

Rainiers President, Aaron Artman, welcomed all of us to the evening’s festivities and talked about the upgrades and the upcoming All-Star Game. He likened Cheney Stadium to the boutique hotel of MiLB stadiums, unique and the pride and joy of the south sound. We also learned that Ivar’s managed all of the dining options in the stadium.

We then split into two groups and took a tour of the stadium. We had the chance to walk out onto the field and check out the brand new 9,670 square-foot family pavilion along the first base side of the stadium. The pavilion includes a playground and a fun Wiffle ball field for the kids that is open year-round for the public to enjoy.

On the field, and very careful not to walk on the grass!

We also went through some of the suites and dining areas and learned more about the history of the stadium. We all watched the game from the stadium’s new party deck, located down the left field line. The deck includes professional baseball’s only fan fire pit, spanning 25 feet, as well as new local food vendors and a fully stocked bar.

Field views!
The fire pit definitely keeps you very warm.

With the sun out and the temperature around 80 degrees, it was the perfect night in Tacoma, watching the Rainiers play the Albuquerque Isotopes. My husband and I ate hot dogs from Red Hot (a must-visit if you are ever in Tacoma), Ivar’s and BaRB-Q, took photos with the Rainiers mascot, Rhubarb the Reindeer, relaxed with a few beers from the R Bar and ended the evening with a warm chocolate chip cookie from The Original Cookie, while hanging out at the fire pit.

Just me and Rhubarb!

I highly recommend bringing your family and/or friends to Cheney Stadium this baseball season. It is an experience that will live with you for the rest of your life, I can guarantee it. In fact, if you decide to come here, you have the chance to inspire the next generation of baseball superstars, so you may want to start looking for the best baseball uniform socks to ensure that you are ready for this time when it eventually comes (which it definitely will, I’m sure). If you start preparing them now, it won’t be long until you see your own children or loved ones out on the baseball field at stadiums like this. How amazing would that be?

So, what are you waiting for? The beautiful stadium has ample parking, Mt. Rainier sits as the backdrop and an evening with baseball and sunshine is truly a perfect Northwest evening in my book.
