On Saturday, August 19, the Moore Theater in Seattle will host the one night only, Layne Staley Tribute Show, with all proceeds donated to the Layne Staley Memorial Fund benefiting Therapeutic Health Services (THS) and Strong Against Cancer.

Local Alice in Chains tribute band, Jar of Flies, will take the stage at the iconic Moore Theater, paying homage to Alice in Chains’ Layne Staley, 15 years after his passing. Layne’s mother, Nancy McCallum, will make a special appearance alongside other local musicians to celebrate Layne’s legacy. Nancy founded The Layne Staley Memorial Fund in 2002 and has sought to turn the tragedy of Layne Staley’s death into hope for those that suffer. The Memorial Fund provides support, education, and encouragement for heroin recovery; and creates a place for family, friends, and fans to stay connected for the common goal of sharing information and resources for sustained recovery.
The 15th annual Layne Staley Tribute, presented by STG Presents and KISW 99.9FM will be different this year as it celebrates Layne’s 50th birthday, which would have been on August 22, and the 25th anniversary for the studio release of the album Dirt. The Moore Theater was selected to mark this celebration because the venue saw bands like Alice in Chains and several other Seattle grunge-era bands get their start.

Other performances include Seattle’s Windowpane, Van Eps and an Alice in Chains tribute band from Los Angeles, Memory Layne. A silent auction and raffle including memorabilia sent from members of Alice in Chains, will be held to help raise additional money for the Layne Staley Memorial Fund.
