Waking up and hitting the yoga mat with FitBit instructor, Kevin Ng, at W Bellevue was a great way to kick start the weekend.

When I was asked if I would like to help out by attending a yoga event at W, I couldn’t say no. However, not much persuasion was needed because let’s be honest, I love the SPG Group and book all my vacation hotel stays with them. I even got ready at W Seattle for my wedding over 10 years ago and have pictures from there that I will cherish forever. I hadn’t checked out W Bellevue yet, so I was super excited to not only take a fun yoga class but see what the W Bellevue was all about.

I arrived 20 minutes early as I wasn’t sure how the parking situation would be, but it was actually fairly easily and opted for the self-park option. After parking I took the elevator to the third floor where I immediately felt the modern and clean decor, and uplifting music that filled the space.
Check-in was a breeze, which included filling out a form for an opportunity to win the new FitBit Ionic that comes out next month. After signing in, I walked down the hall where a few vendors were set up including Kona Deep Water, Zico Coconut Water, KIND Bars, and of course FitBit. I happily grabbed a Kona Deep Water and KIND Bar and threw them into my purse to enjoy after the workout.

As I entered the large room, the floor was already covered in yoga mats and yogis ready to start some vinyasa sequences in there lululemon attire. My girlfriend Angie and I decided to walk around and talk to a few friendly faces, and we were both very surprised that we knew so many people in attendance. We also had the wonderful opportunity to talk to Kevin Ng and quickly discovered that we had a few mutual friends, small world!

With a ton of energy, Kevin took the stage! He gave away a couple FitBit t-shirts and quickly did the raffle for the new FitBit Ionic. It looks great but it’s good to know that you have options to customize it with replacement straps like those from Mobile Mob if you wanted to. I was very impressed that he got straight to business with the free items and immediately into our workout. It was very clear that FitBit was not here to sell us anything but to truly host a free workout.

Kevin was super friendly, had great energy, and took us through some very quick vinyasa sequences, and to be honest, some of them were pretty tough (I couldn’t do the chaturanga mixed with the scorpion). We had a few squats and lunges added to our workout to bring a HIIT influence into the mix. Kevin then led us in some ab workouts, stretches, more lunges and squats, more abs, and then our final stretch and savasana.

The workout was powered by some great music by a live DJ. The lineup consisted of The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, Sia, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars. The best part was listening to “A Whole New World” during our final savasana and my inner child starting singing out loud, but I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.

Once we finished our session on the mat, we headed down one flight of stairs and enjoyed some light bites on the balcony. I was super grateful that the weather was nice and I had the opportunity to enjoy the fire on the big comfy couches, with the crisp fall air. The bites were delicious, some avocado toast, strawberry bites, and my favorite was a salmon and cream cheese concoction.

I definitely want to come back to W Bellevue and attend FitBit’s free workout next month at Magnuson Park. Stay tuned!
