On Friday, September 22, 2017, get decked out in your finest to attend the Art Institute of Seattle’s (AIS) Americana Luxury: MOD Explosion!
AIS Fashion Marketing students who are enrolled in the 3D Visual Merchandising class by Yuliya Suleymanova, are proudly presenting this fashion installation curated by the Victoria Stowe Collection.

The 1960’s MOD style inspired installation, located at the Gallery of the Art Institute of Seattle, was created to promote American heritage brands, their history, and influence on global fashion trends. With over 30 vintage luxury handbags being showcased alongside with MOD inspired looks and period Vogue fashion ads, as well as a special presentation and book signing by Victoria Stowe, you won’t want to miss this event that combines history with fashion.

Victoria Stowe is a published fashion historian and leading expert in the history of American legacy brands specializing in luxury handbags. She has devoted almost two decades to researching their 100-year history and assembling the only known comprehensive archive of Americana Luxury Handbags available for viewing online here. The collection is also featured in her illustrated fashion encyclopedia, “Exotic Skin Handbags: Alligator and Crocodile” (Schiffer Publishing 2010), available on Amazon and in stores and libraries worldwide.
