While it’s known as a summer destination to most Seattleites, the fall season is one of Lake Chelan’s best kept secrets – foliage is hued in oranges and reds, wine is flowing at harvest festivals and magic-hour hikes are somehow even more breathtaking. With that being said, it’s time to head east to the Lake Chelan Wine Valley’s annual Crush Festival! Hundreds of people from all over the Pacific Northwest flock to this event every October and now it’s your turn to experience the festival!
Spanning the first two weekends of October (October 7-15, 2017), visitors can take short hops between local wineries to observe first-hand the steps involved in grape harvest and wine production. Festival-goers also have the unique opportunity to interact with the growers and winemakers, and of course, sample the award-winning wines of the region, all while taking in the scenic views of the Lake Chelan Wine Valley. Additionally, local restaurants will feature specialty food items paired with distinctive local wines, and there will be places for visitors to kick off their shoes to stomp grapes the old-fashioned way.
