Sharply is a Seattle-based menswear retailer whose philosophy is to help real guys look better.

Sharply co-founder, Molly Kuffner, left Nordstrom and was doing consulting with a client who was interested in menswear. After diving into the research on men’s apparel and accessories, the duo identified a void in the market. What started as a consulting project turned into a handsome business venture. The duo asked themselves, who are the guys out there who are really busy living their lives and need a way to look and feel their best in what they wear? These guys are so busy living and spending time with their family that they aren’t really shopping. Going into a massive clothing store can be pretty overwhelming for these guys and they want something simple and convenient. That being said, men’s clothing sales have been outpacing women’s sales by double digits for the last few years! Since the male clothing market is much smaller than the women’s market – Molly saw an opportunity! Molly asked herself, how can we start a brand that is rooted in all things essentials for guys who are busy living their life and probably not shopping? You could look at some cargo pants for men if you’re thinking of shopping around a little while seeing what other clothing items are on offer.

Thus, Sharply was born.

Molly started Sharply with private-label knits and t-shirts. Working with friends and former colleagues that she knew and trusted, Molly started with these, knowing they had to be really super soft and comfortable before moving into premium denim products. All of the products and partners that Sharply works with are rooted in the essentials. A gentleman needs a good shirt and a great fitting pair of jeans that are comfortable.

After starting the e-commerce store and spending a few months as a pop-up shop in University Village, Sharply opened its first brick and mortar store in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Capitol Hill is growing neighborhood with so many fun and exciting things going on. Molly comments how amazing the community has been and how they have embraced Sharply. Sharply is also getting to know Capitol Hill and seeing what everyone needs. The brick and mortar store is different from their online sales and Sharply is learning every single day what their customers want. Today it’s all about convenience and people want things immediately. Sharply focuses on taking care of their customer and getting them what they need in life. Clothing has to fit and it has to be at a nice price point and almost everything in the brand is made in the USA.

Sharply also partners with brands who are open to testing their products in their store to see what the customers want. For example, they carry Miansai bracelets and watches, Randolph Engineering sunglasses, and Scojo readers.
