Meet the founders of Washington State’s first pet aquamation facility to learn about an alternative and earth-friendly form of disposition. Resting Waters was established in 2016 with the goal of providing pet owners an alternative form of disposition of their cherished companion animals after death, through the careful application of alkaline hydrolysis, or aquamation. Using water flow, low temperature and minerals, aquamation provides a gentle, ecologically friendly process, more akin to the natural decomposition that occurs after burial than any other body disposition method, including cremation. After aquamation, the mineral ash of bones remain, pathogen and disease free.
