July 1-6, 2018, over 4,000 amazing athletes will be descend on the Emerald City as Seattle hosts the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games.
The mission of the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games is to showcase the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities and the impact of Special Olympics through world-class competition, inspirational experiences, and modeling inclusion for all.
Athletes will compete in 14 different sports including athletics (track and field), basketball, bocce, bowling, flag football, golf, gymnastics, power lifting, soccer, softball, stand-up paddle boarding, swimming, tennis and volleyball. Competitions will be held at venues across the Greater Seattle area including the University of Washington, Angle Lake, Celebration Park, Kenmore Lanes, Seattle Pacific University, Seattle University, King County Aquatic Center and Willows Run Golf Club.
In addition to the 14 sports, the 2018 USA Games will also be offering the Motor Activity Training Program (MATP), which is designed for athletes who are unable to participate in official Special Olympics sport competitions because of their skill and/or functional abilities.The MATP is designed to prepare athletes (including those with severe or profound intellectual disability and significant physical disabilities) for sport-specific activities appropriate for their ability levels.

The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will need a powerful team of 10,000 volunteers to make the USA Games happen! Your time and talent is needed to produce the national competition and to help amplify the Special Olympics message of diversity, unity and inclusion. From sports competition and special event assistance, to emergency management and behind-the-scenes operations and logistics support, volunteers of every skill and experience level will be essential to the success of the USA Games.
