“Party with a purpose. ”
Nate and Amy Stone and Derek and Natalie Lockett took that phrase to heart when they decided to open Cathedral, Seattle’s newest and only event venue that donates 100% of profit to charity.
What? How is that possible?
It sounds a little nuts, but its already being done (ever heard of Newman’s Own?). When you book an event at Cathedral, they will cover their overhead costs (facility, labor, etc) and then they donate the rest to charity.
If you have a charity that you already love, Cathedral will contribute the money to them. If not, they have 3-4 transparent and reputable rotating charities working in diverse areas that they have developed personal relationships with and they would be happy to share with you what each organization does so you can choose one you’d like the profit to go towards!
Built in 1920, Cathedral is located in the heart of Historic Ballard, directly on Ballard Avenue in Seattle and is currently waiting to be registered under the National Register of Historic Places. They can host a wide variety of events including: private parties, corporate meetings, fundraisers, and wedding receptions. The historic space features:
- 4,000 square feet
- A quality sound system for iPhone, iPod or a DJ
- Private Wi-Fi access
- Gorgeous finishes, exposed brick, marble bar-tops
- Capacity for 170 cocktails and 120 seats
- Two separate floors each with their own bar
- Full kitchen for a caterer of your choice.
In addition to private events, Cathedral will also be a community resource. Starting in May 2018, Cathedral will launch its #WFHFriday event series for Ballard residents. Attendees will enjoy zippy Wi-Fi, unlimited drip coffee, and more! BYO laptops and food! Keep an eye on seattlecathedral.com for registration details!
We recently attended the Cathedral Launch Party to check out the space for ourselves, and I must say, I want to hold all my parties here!
If you have an event coming up, consider checking out Cathedral and take party with a purpose to a whole new level!
