Women love bargains! The change of season heralds in a feeling of “out with the old, in with the new”, especially when it comes to our wardrobes!

Thankfully, Curvy Chic Closet, the largest plus size consignment event in North America, has answered our frugal prayers with their 4-day, semi-annual Consignment Sales Event, allowing curvy women to indulge in a new wardrobe without even a smidgen of guilt by trading in their own gently-used clothing for an massive selection of outfits and even accessories from fellow attendees and more than 15 participating vendors.

Curvy Chic Closet’s event will be located at 10795 SW Cascade Avenue, Portland, OR and attendees who wish to consign their gently-used, size 14/XL-34 clothes should register via http://www.curvychiccloset.com/ to receive a consigner number and register for a drop-off appointment. Over 200 consigners participate by consigning over 20,000 consigned items at each event.

Attendees can even treat themselves to a free fashion show (the largest plus size fashion show on the west coast), featuring designers/retailers such as BelAir Betties, Catherines, Charity Rosalind, Chocolate Diamond, Curvy Diva Girls Fashions, E’mit Couture, Everly & Opal Bridal, Judee Moonbeam Studio, Hello Darling Designs, Mary Rose NW Boutique, Pocket Paradise Skirts and Wintress Watson Beauty on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. PST at the same location as the event. The fashion show will feature 45 models (ages 12 to 64).

This exciting fashion show will feature Gwen DeVoe as emcee. Gwen is also the Creator and Executive Producer of Full Figured Fashion Week®, an annual presentation of the fashion industry’s finest plus models, designers, retailers, boutiques and businesses with products and services for the plus community in New York City. The event celebrated ten years of production in June 2018 and is heralded as one of the industry’s most legitimate gateways for plus fashion and a “must attend’ for anyone involved in the industry.

Non-Profit Partners

Curvy Chic Closet is joining forces with Free Food Ministries, a nonprofit organization that supports the local community. Attendees can bring toiletry items in exchange for FREE Presale Admission ($5 value). Toiletry Items are accepted any time during the 4 day event.

Another worthy charity to benefit from Curvy Chic Closet’s generosity is Gung Ho Ministries, a women’s resale shop that generates income to help serve homeless veterans, the needy, and the underprivileged. In the past seven years, Curvy Chic Closet’s consigners have donated approximately 25,000 pounds of goods to Gung Ho Ministries, helping countless women to dress for success and improve their lives and circumstances.

On the night of the fashion show, Curvy Chic Closet hosts a raffle that benefits the Curvy Chic Closet Foundation. Raffle tickets are $1 each. Curvy Chic Closet Foundation’s mission is to empower and inspire plus-size individuals to be their best selves through addressing how to overcome body obstacles and developing strong, body-positive advocacy for all.
