Halloween! I’m not going to lie, I’m almost 40 and I love dressing up for Halloween, I don’t care what anybody says! I really love getting a group of friends together and dressing up in similar characters – maybe, just maybe, if we end up somewhere with a naughty theme this Halloween that has a costume contest – we would win!
If you like to party as much as I do but don’t have plans quite yet, let me help you out! I’ve gathered some super fun ways to celebrate this year in and around Seattle and they are listed below (along with an ode to my Halloween celebrations of years gone by – enjoy!).

Seattle Chocolate’s Haunted Factory Tour: October 17-20 and October 24-27
A troublesome spirit has escaped and is creating havoc for the Seattle Chocolate Factory! Help repair the damage while gathering clues to speak with Ixcacao, the Goddess of Chocolate. Pumpkin Plunge at Tukwila Pool: October 19, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Children can pick their own pumpkin out of a floating pumpkin patch from 1:00-3:00 p.m. There will also be an open swim, with access to the diving board and waterslide, plus snacks and other spooky fun for all ages. Cost: $3.25 per person, which includes a pumpkin. www.tukwilapool.org

Tukwila Halloween Carnival: October 24, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Head to the Tukwila Community Center for games, a haunted walk and Halloween carnival fun. Cost: $2 per child or FREE with a donation of socks to help support the Spirit of Giving program. www.tukwilawa.gov
Pee Wee Monster Bash Halloween Carnival: October 25, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Kirkland’s annual Pee Wee Monster Bash features a fabulous bunch of fun for kids age five and under! Escape the wet weather with a slew of indoor, carnival-style activities, including swamp fishing, crafts, a cookie walk, movement maze, story-time and more! This carnival is kooky rather than spooky, meant to celebrate Halloween the old-fashioned way! Bring your costumed kiddos for a morning of safe, spirited fun! Kirkland Zombie Wine Walk: October 25, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
October brings Kirkland’s famous Zombie Wine Walk! Brought to you by the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, the Kirkland Downtown Association and Seattle Uncorked, this 21-and-over event will take you on a mouth-watering adventure with tasty highlights sips from local wineries and breweries, hosted by downtown Kirkland businesses. Fear on the Pier at MaST Center: October 26, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
The Marine Science and Technology (MaST) Center hosts a free Halloween festival, “Fear on the Pier” from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Help put together marine mammal skeletons and learn how they are prepared, take a close look at some of the creepiest specimens that are brought out only for this spooky occasion and watch divers compete to carve the best pumpkin underwater. Pumpkins in the Park: October 26, 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Come join the Kirkland Downtown Association’s festivities at Kirkland’s Marina Park! This fall harvest festival offers a pumpkin patch, hay maze, a pop-up farmers market, carnival games, goats, food and a costume contest. This free event is fun for the whole family! Halloween Scavenger Hunt: October 26, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Join the Bridle Trails Park Foundation for its third annual Halloween Scavenger Hunt! This fun, free adventure features a one-mile scavenger hunt and Halloween hike, Halloween treats for all and a photo booth with a miniature horse. Come and meet our state parks interpretive specialist, who will be on hand to reveal some “creepy” animal specimens! This is a free community event! Lovers Fetish Fantasy Cabaret Halloween Party: October 26, 8:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Lovers announced its inaugural Fetish Fantasy Cabaret Halloween Party today, inviting Seattleites to get flirty, dirty and kinky. The Oct. 26 event, in partnership with Valtesse Productions, takes place at First Pick Design (1915 1stAve S) from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. and features a non-stop feast of eye candy: shibari rope bondage; sultry burlesque by Carmen Caliente; scenes between transgendered lovers looking straight from a shemalehd video; and the mighty Ms. Briq House; daring dance and aerial shows; VIP guest appearances; a popular Seattle-based DJ, Tollefson; and a pop-up Lovers boutique to keep the party vibe buzzing all night. Pacific Raceways Trunk of Treat: October 27, 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Museum of Fright: October 29
The Museum of Flight celebrates Halloween family fun as “the Museum of Fright.” The museum’s spacious galleries provide Halloween carnival-style games and activities to spark imagination, innovation and get in the Halloween spirit. Activities include Monster Bowling and other games under the Blackbird spyplane, aviation-themed ghost story telling, and crafting scary flyers that soar and swoop below a real, high-flying glider. Des Moines Halloween Carnival and Trick-or-Treat Path: October 31
Des Moines is proud to present a safe and entertaining trail of businesses for all children to walk along and gather treats. Bring your ghouls and goblins out for a family-friendly free event along Marine View Drive and 7th Ave. S., from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Get a Stamp Card from one of our volunteers or at participating businesses – 15 Stamps earns $1 OFF of admission to the Halloween Carnival.
Des Moines Parks, Recreation and Senior Services is hosting a Halloween Carnival at the Des Moines Field House from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a host of frightfully fun and skill-challenging games. www.destinationdesmoines.org
Annual Halloween Disco Dance w/DJ Dana Dub: October 31, 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
Dress up on Halloween and dance to the best of disco, Motown and soul music with DJ Dana Dub. Whether in bell bottoms or spooky attire, celebrate Halloween in 70s style with a hustle lesson and dancing into the night. Costumes strongly encouraged, but not required. Come to The Tin Table before the dance to fuel up with cocktails and dinner or order off the spooky bubbles menu!

Smith Tower – Spooky Speakeasy: October 31, All Day
Join us for a Halloween party in our spooky speakeasy. On your way to the top of the tower, head through our haunted exhibits if you dare, for an experience hosted by Spooked in Seattle. Once you’ve made your way to the 35th floor you’ll enjoy terrifyingly delicious food and cocktail specials, costume contest with prizes, a photo booth, and more. Ben Paris – 1920’s Haunted Speakeasy: October 31 – November 3
We’re bringing back the ghosts of Ben Paris’ past this Halloween with a 1920’s Haunted Speakeasy.
