In response to the ongoing pandemic and the 45 million masks used per day in the U.S. – most of which are not approved for traditional recycling bins – Elysian has installed TerraCycle Zero Waste Boxes, specially designed to safely recycle single-use masks and gloves at its Capitol Hill brewpub location. Everything that is collected on-site will then be sorted and processed into raw materials that can be reused instead of being sent to landfill.

To encourage the local community to participate in the “Pints for PPE” program, everyone who recycles their single-use PPE at the brewery will be rewarded with a $7 gift card redeemable at the pub. The brewery is investing a minimum of $1,000 in gift cards for locals who swing by to recycle their disposable PPE.
