Wilderness Times recently conducted a study about the best outdoor cities in the US, and Seattle came in 1st place!

Narrowing down the list of best outdoor cities in the U.S. is no easy task.
In order to determine which cities come out on top, Wilderness Times collected information from multiple sources on several different factors they deemed the most relevant.

Taking three weeks, copious amounts of coffee, and a lot of work, but they finally did it! Here is how the Pacific Northwest ranked
- Seattle – #1
- Portland – #10
- Vancouver, WA – #12
- Boise – #21

Their scoring system rates cities on a scale from 1 to 10 based on several different criteria:
- Housing
- Number of parks within 10-minute walking distance
- Weather
- Nearby hiking & biking trails
- Air quality
- National & state parks
- Population density

Although there will always be a degree of subjectivity in these ratings, Wilderness Times did their best to make it as data-driven as possible.
