On Saturday, August 21st, local Seattle tribute band JAR OF FLIES returns to the stage for the annual Layne Staley Tribute Show at the Seattle’s iconic Neptune Theatre. The Emerald City is bringing grunge back home for one night only to pay homage to Seattle’s Layne Staley, the Alice in Chains original front-man, who’s voice and music still pays homage to the Seattle grunge-era. Special opening set from TEN MILES WIDE, a Seattle-based rock band that brings a unique twist, a stamp all their own and continues the tradition of Seattle music into the future. All Proceeds from the tribute will be donated to the Layne Staley Memorial Fund benefitting Therapeutic Health Services (THS).
The annual Layne Staley Tribute, presented this year by STG Presents and KISW 99.9FM is different – after a year of COVID-19 restrictions, fans and grunge-lovers can come out to the Neptune Theatre and relive the grunge years with a live performance by Seattle’s Jar of Flies – The Ultimate AIC Experience – who will be covering the music of Alice in Chains all night long.
The Layne Staley Tribute is a Seattle tradition for fans from all over the world to gather and celebrate the music, life and continued legacy of Layne Staley and all of the musicians who left this world too young.
Opiate addiction is an ongoing and current major health concern in Seattle and the Layne Staley Tribute is committed to raising awareness of the opiate epidemic and resources available for those in our communities in search of help.
Tickets to the Layne Staley Tribute Show are $20.50, and can be purchased through Ticketmaster at STGPresents.org.
Doors at 8 p.m., followed by the show at 9 p.m. This event is open to all ages.
